Location: Photograph taken at the 2008 Spring Bead Bonanza Show in Southfield, Michigan.

Description: Ever wonder what happens to all of the imperfect pearls? The ones that crack or are poorly formed or oddly shaped or strangely colored? They wind up here - in strands of imperfect pearls. Nothing should ever go to waste and neither should imperfect gemstones. In that spirit, these imperfect pearls were for sale at the show. They were cheap and no two were identical but still they were interesting to look at. I find it amazing what can go wrong with a pearl - as apparently much can and often does.
