Hi A.J.

I meant to ask you if you ever heard about a very large Tourmaline geode that was unearthed in a backyard by accident somewhere in California a few years ago, the late 90's I believe it was?

I saw it on a show or news report or something like that but never heard anymore about it? Apparently it contained about $12mil worth of very large crystals of gem quality. Some of the rods were of golden colour and up to a foot thick.

I figured if anyone knew something about it you would :D

Hope all is well! I'll post a couple more specimens very soon.

Hmm, no, I've not heard about one in California like that. I did hear of a few very large pockets unearthed south of the US border - in Mexico and Brazil. And of course of large pockets in the US state of Maine.

Speaking of large crystals though, there is the Cave of Swords in Mexico which contains massive selenite gypsum crystals - many twice as large as a grown man.

National Geographic did a story on it - [link] (nationalgeographic.com)

Okay, just a thought. It was many years ago.

Funnily enough I saw those caves only recently on that National Geo. TV documentary! I was really blown away by that gypsum structure. Those blades were enormous! Now there's a place I'd love to take my camera to! :D

Hope all is going well A.J.

Yeah, it would be all fun and games with a camera - until it melted from the heat or got destroyed by the massive amount of humidity.

All is well. I'm very busy right now preparing for some upcoming shows that I'll be selling my glass work at and also attending mineral shows.

:)

Haha yeah. :D

All the best with your work A.J. It is truly amazing so you easily kill'em.

Keep an eye out for a bargain specimen or two!

thanks for the support buddy ;) you definitely know your stones!
:iconundistilled:
You're welcome. :)

I've been interested in stones since I was very little so have been studying them for quite some time.
